Even nowadays there is plenty of space to design something new and creative. Italian company, Gartenkultur, managed to do that and come up with a very nice idea of making planters from recycled books. There are planters as made of big fat hardback books as of a stack of slim comic books. All of them has a hole drilled inside them with a mesh net at the bottom and some dirt on it. Such planters looks very cool with all small plants especially with bonsai trees. In order to protect books from getting wet they are covered with isolation material.
